Career overview:
Lee Bivens motorsports art career was a result of exposure to the inside of Nascar racing from the day he was born. Lee's father Arnold was RJReynolds man in charge of the Winston #1 car and it literally sat in the front yard. He painted it over and over. Lee found recognition for his art abilities in the first grade when the 'Raleigh Observer' newspaper ran a front page color article on Lee standing in front of his 'Wolfpack' painting. Immediately following high school Lee went pro selling his originals for $20-$30, but in volumes "I figured, keep it up, the collectors were paying for my education". Those clients included fighter pilots from the nearby airbase (ironically Lee met them riding street bikes). By the time Lee was 20 he was painting 'Smokin Joe' for RJR's ad agency 'Long Hames and Carr'. Earning RJReynolds Sr. executive staffs' trust, Lee pitched them on sponsoring a road racing team which went on to great success. From that point Lee was allowed into the top riders inner sanctum, befriending and becoming the personal artist for Scott Russell, Miguel Duhamel, Doug Polen, Carl Fogarty, Mick Doohan, Mladin, John Surtees, Agostini, Schwantz, Jamie James, Sadowski, Kocinski, Nicky Hayden, Rossi, Bayliss, Stoner and other superstars. Wonderful private commission's and corporate portraits, murals and lithographs for Honda, Yamaha, BMW, Triumph, Ducati, Daytona International Museum, Redbull, AMA, Road Atlanta and others.
